Christmas is not a time to commit more sin

Therefore I said, Surely these [are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, [nor] the judgment of their God. – Jeremiah 5:4

Christmas is a time of reflection. It is a time to ponder upon the goodness of the LORD. God through His merciful kindness and love, gave us His Son Jesus Christ, so that those who believe in Him might have life everlasting, (John 3:16). The way of the LORD is to know His truth and walk in it. And as a Christian, you are expected to live according to the word of God; not by the world. If you are planning to fornicate or do any other thing sinful this Christmas and call it enjoyment as has been the case during Christmas season for some people, then repent now. It is not too late to repent. The LORD is always ready with open arms to forgive.

As the above verse states, those who do not know the way of the LORD are not only poor in spirit but are foolish. You can have all the money and the things of the world, but if you do not know the way of the LORD, you are poor and foolish. It is especially dangerous to call yourself Christ’s own and continue to live in sin. And the way of the LORD is holiness. We are therefore advised, “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: Be ye holy, because I am holy”, (1 Peter:15-16, NIV). This is a command in the Old Testament and echoed again in the New Testament.

My message for you during this Christmas season is simple: do not do anything that will bring shame to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! So, if you are planning to do anything that is not sound according to the word of God, do not do it.

Thank you.
